This one begins on the night before my wedding. In true Tybee style, the rehearsal dinner was a Bar-b-Que at the location of my outdoor wedding. Of course, we did not truly rehearse anything. Imagine everyone in flip flops and shorts with beer in hand seriously rehearsing a wedding.
I think I walked the path I would follow the next day, with beer in hand, stood at the gazebo and looked at my soon to be husband and said "I do" ok, enough of that and onto the party...
We ate and drank then keeping with family tradition both sides of the family went out to celebrate. As tradition goes, everyone parties until almost midnight because the groom and bride must be at their overnight destinations by midnight.
The plan was set, for my soon to be husband to spend the night at his parent's house and I would stay the night at my home with my mother staying over to keep me company.
MIDNIGHT??? What am I Cinderella?? It was only a couple of years ago when I would start my evening of partying at midnight. My mother and I were prepared for this shut in. We had a bottle or two of champagne and a bottle of Chardonnay. We blasted music until the wee hours of the morning, danced and sang the night away. Sometime during all of our partying I ended up wearing my tiara and my mother ended up wearing her mini tiara. We were supposed to wear our tiaras at the wedding. Hey it isn't everyday that a grown women can were a tiara so we were taking advantage of the occasion.
The next morning we both woke up on the sectional with our tiaras on our head and empty wine glasses on the floor beside us. We looked at each other, laughed, then decided that we better get ready to present ourselves as the true queens that we are.
