Be present in the moment: Mind, body and soul...

Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life.
– Omar Khayyá

Today I tried this, I'm not sure if I succeeded.....

It is so easy to get lost in the world of technology and the ramblings of our own minds that we forget to be present in the moment. We surround ourselves with the people we love then spend most of our time staring at the screens of the tv, phone, computer or thinking about what happened earlier today or what we are going to do tomorrow. I know, I am guilty of this...

Have you ever spent time with someone that was lost in a texting conversation or surfing the net? Have you ever talked to someone that was looking directly at you but you knew their mind was elsewhere? You know the signs; the blank stares and huh what? Uh huh responses... We all know how that feels on the receiving end. Now ask yourself this: How often have you done this to people you life?

I am guilty, Guilty, GUILTY!! To all of my family and friends that have endured countless hours of my texting, facebooking, blogging, tweeting or just simply daydreaming, while you are trying to spend time with me, I am sorry.

This is my promise to you:

From this day forward, I will be present in the moment. When you are talking to me, I will make eye contact and acknowledge what you are saying. I will put my phone down and spend time with you.

I challenge each and everyone to do the same. Put down your phones and calm your thoughts. The person right there in front of you loves you and is choosing to spend time with you.

Being present is your present to others
