What is love?

What is love other than a 4 letter word that gets thrown around far too easily? The best answer I have found comes from the bible:

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

New International Version (NIV)
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

The first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word love is lovers, husband and wives, boyfriend and girlfriend but love goes beyond that.  We are told to walk in love, love one another, we love our family, a few very close friends and of course ourselves.
When people ask me if I know what love is, I tell them yes and I repeat the above bible verses.  I believe it is truly what love is and it covers all aspects of love.
There is a lot of hurt and anger that occurs in day to day life.  A lot of this stems from lying, cheating, stealing and vengefulness that is routed from past hurts and resentments.  Instead of living day to day in the past, let's all try to live in the present and treat people with kindness, patience, respect and honesty.  This will bring you a greater sense of peace and you will be acting out of love in all your relationships in life.

Live life simply.....
